We are run by Chinley Community Benefit Society. If you would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you.
Our mission is to create a friendly place where it’s easy for locals to shop with minimal waste, where our suppliers have been carefully selected to be trustworthy, sustainable and ethical.
We aim to do this through our not for profit Co-operative shop (Co-op), set up and run by local members for our surrounding communities.
Our Co-op has these main approaches to achieving our mission:
- To offer a range of whole foods and eco-friendly products in Chinley with minimal packaging and refillable containers to reduce single use packaging and lowering our carbon footprint.
- To carefully choose local and/or trusted products and suppliers with ethical and eco credentials so customers can trust what they are buying is sourced responsibly.
- To buy in bulk wherever possible to ensure that our products can be priced fairly for the cost conscious, making ethical and sustainable products more inclusive and accessible.
- To use any profit generated to re-invest in the Co-op or community and eco-friendly projects as chosen by the members of the co-op.
