Repair shop guidance. Repairers and visitors need to read this guidance before taking part in the repair shop.
  • The repair shop is not a substitute for professional repair and there may be items we cannot accept for repair. The reasons for this will be explained when necessary.
  • Repairers will use skill, knowledge and care but cannot guarantee that the repair will turn out as planned or that the item will be repaired or that you will like the repaired item.
  • The volunteers cannot take responsibility for situations beyond their control.
  • Everyone is responsible for their own welfare. This includes both during and after the repair as well as on the premises of Chinley Coop avoiding trips, slips and spillages.
  • Repairers must be safety aware and do their own risk assessment. Do not do repairs that are unsuitable for you and take care of your own safety, and the visitor’s safety, during the repair and during use of the item afterwards as far as possible.
  • Visitors are welcome to make the repairers aware of any individual needs or circumstances that may help the repairer to assist the visitor.
  • We aim to do this through our not for profit Co-operative shop (Co-op), set up and run by local members for our surrounding communities.
By taking part in the repair shop repairers and visitors acknowledge that they have read and understood this guidance.
