Our December repair shop at Chinley Coop proved popular again. We successfully repaired 5 items:
- Auto-function of a record player not working including records not dropping onto the deck records – repaired by cleaning and lubricating.
- Headphone jack snapped off – recommended purchasing new lead and return to repair shop if that’s not an option.
- Pet heating pad – turned out not to be broken but still had a thorough overhaul
- Table lamp in pieces – reassembled and the repaired the rotating switch assembly
- Bike – puncture and brake repaired, wobbling wheel fixed
- Overhead heater controller not working – by-passed the controller so can be used
If you have repair or just want some advice about a broken item come along to our next repair shop in Chinley Coop from 5pm – 7pm on Friday 2nd January. We can help with furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, appliances, toys etc and will try to help with any item you can bring in. Perhaps your Christmas gifts are already broken?!
Remember the repair shop is always the first Friday on the month 5-7pm.
When you bring in an item you will be asked to complete a form to confirm that you have read our guidelines and accept the house rules of the repair shop. Our guidelines can be read here and the form is here (link to form). Electrical items will be PAT tested before and after repairing.
There is also a repair café in Chapel en le Frith that meets the second Saturday of the month. http://chapelrepaircafe.co.uk/
